Dr. Michelle Jorgensen

Dr. Michelle Jorgensen is an author, speaker, teacher, biologic/holistic dentist, and health and wellness provider. For the last 10 years she has been paving the way in Biologic/Holistic dentistry, learning from pioneers all over the world. She has created the Total Care Dental Way, a patient CARE centric, health focused method for treating dental and over all health. This group includes Chiropractors, Naturopaths, MDs, Nurse Practitioners, Energy Workers and more.

A prolific writer, she has authored hundreds of blog posts and articles about dentistry, health and nutrition. "Young Dentist of the Year - Dr. Erin Beveridge"

Erin's mentor said of her,

"This young professional came into our office a year ago. I cannot think of another dentist right out of school that has been so professional and brought so much to their office. She is polite, kind and strong. I was so impressed with her people skills not just with our patients but with our team."

"She has been attending Crown Council Annual Events since she was 12 years old. She has been a CC student member through her 4 years at Marquette University School of Dentistry. She graduated and got her dental license in 2017."

"She loves what she does and it shows in her determination. She has had her struggles to complete her doctorate and graduate. 6 years ago she got a heart infection during the finals in her first year of dental school. She went home and was helicoptered to Stanford University for a possible heart transplant. The doctors performed a miracle and her heart healed after 2 weeks in the ICU. The Dean and her professors recommended she stay home for 9 months and heal. They saved a place in the next dental class for her."

"A few months before she joined my office I purchased a second dental practice. She has been instrumental in introducing more current equipment and procedures to these patients and is the driving force to its success."

Please join us in recognizing the Crown Council Young Dentist of the Year, the unique contribution to dentistry of Erin Beveridge.

with Joseph Grenny "Crucial Conversations"

Click to listen or download

Our success in life is dictated by the quality of relationships we can engender. Some people seem better at negotiating better quality outcomes (for all) than others do – they work with people rather than through people. They are able to hold deeper, more honest conversations that create a new level of bonding and are able to transform people, situations and relationships. By being prepared to hold these conversations (often early) they ensure clarity over responsibility, define expectations and hence maintain high levels of performance. When we let these conversations go by, we let standards slip and unwittingly give permission for unwanted behaviour to continue.

Crucial conversations lie all around us – all the time: from performance appraisals at work, up to discussing problems over sexual intimacy. The skills we need in the boardroom are the same skills we need in the bedroom.

When communities have been studied they found that it was not necessarily those communities with the most problems which were dysfunctional – but those communities that dealt with the issues inappropriately. Communities that embraced the issues and discussed in open honest dialogue were ‘healthier’ than those who either tried to control or ignored them.

Crucial conversations, by their very definition are important and can affect a person’s life. There are three factors that tend to define a crucial conversation: 1) Opinions differ 2) The stakes are high and 3) Emotions are high. If handled properly they create breakthroughs. If handled badly they can lead to breakdowns. Whole relationships can hang on how these are dealt with. And the reality is many people do not deal with them well – or at all. They live in either a sub-optimal state or hope the situation will resolve itself.

Dental Innovation was founded on providing next-generation video text technology to bridge the treatment recommendation knowledge gap between dentists and their patients. This technology was initially developed and implemented in Fortune 100 companies and our desire is to leverage it for smaller, niche markets – dental being the first.

Along with the technology, we brought together practicing dentists to choose initial platform content as well as providing editorial feedback on all originally produced content video.

From idea to execution to delivery, our team spent months ensuring the videos we created would be helpful to dentists and impactful for their patients. Here are some behind the scenes photos of the process.

Dr. Brian Harris: "Using Instagram to Attract New Patients" 08/13/2018Click to listen or download

Growing up around dentistry, my dad would take us to work with him during the summer. We would get paid $2 per hour to unpack boxes, clean the lab, make stone models of teeth, etc. I realize now after having my own kids, he really did it so we wouldn’t drive my mom crazy at home fighting all summer. Several years passed and after living out of the country for a few years, I returned home and it just felt like the right path for me. I have never regretted the decision and love being a dentist.

When I am not working, I try to stay active running and biking. I spend a lot of time with my kids at their football games, dance classes and skateboarding lessons. On Sunday afternoons you will find me relaxing and watching a movie with my family.

I have been involved with the group, Smiles for Hope, for 5 years now. It takes dentistry into the small villages of the Dominican Republic. I was able to take my wife Maury with me four years ago and this year we went back with my two older boys, Connor and Cash, and 6 Harris Dental team members. We spent 9 days in small villages helping people that have no access to dental care. It has been a life changing opportunity and I feel thankful to be a part of such a great group.

In the 5th grade, I won first place in the Utah open Karate tournament. I only mention this because I had to fight my brother, Dr Scott, in the finals. Let’s just say he took second place. Still, one of my proudest moments.

Professional: Young Dentist of the Year in 2007, Phoenix Magazine Top Dentist 2007-2013, Phoenix Magazine Top Cosmetic Dentist 2010-2013, AZ Foothills Scottsdale’s Best Cosmetic Dentist 2014.

I want to be remembered as a person who was positive and always looked for the good in others. I want to be remembered as someone who enjoyed life to the fullest.

The most interesting and fun trip I have ever taken was going to Ireland with Maury. I was taken aback by how beautiful it is. I loved trying new foods, seeing ancient landmarks and learning about the history of the country.

Dr. David Montz: Inside Hurricane Harvey 07/02/2018

Our 2018 Crown Council Team of the Year recognizes not just the outstanding effort of the team but the heroic efforts of their doctor. When 50 inches of rain and almost 19 Trillion gallons of water fell on Texas, this team jumped into action helping family, friends, neighbors and complete stranger with any task that needed to be done. Their doctor, for four straight days, volunteer managed a shelter at the local high school where they served 28

6 people, coordinated over the activities of over 300 volunteers and provided emergency care for 89 Nursing Home residents who arrived without charts, medication or staff to help. As the immediate crisis ended, the team even gathered at the office and after cleaning it up from the damage that came from the storm, made the distributed over 900 hygiene kits to 7 different shelters and donation centers.

The full story of this experience and this team would take us hours to tell…but might be best described in the words of one team member. She worte, “This is seriously the best family ever to work together! I am truly grateful for each and every one of them. How can a dental practice be so little about clinical dentistry and so much about the people?! When your team understands that we take care of each other first, and the awesome by-product of that is stellar patient that is a beautiful thing! They're going to have to bury me here, because these people- the docs, the assistants, the hygienists, and the admin...they rock my world!"

Karen Phillips (UltraDent): "Passion For People" 04/19/2018

Karen Phillips

Click to listen or download

Karen's story of working at UltraDent: When I started in dentistry as a dental assistant many years ago, I was actually quite shy and had been that way my whole life—through childhood and as a young adult. Quite shy! In a crowded room, I was always the wall flower, but I loved dental assisting. Then, when the opportunity to work for Ultradent came around, I started coming out of my shell as I had to go in to dental offices as a sales rep.

Later, as a regional manager, again, I blossomed a little bit more. After a few years in that position, I became a product trainer and remember distinctly a few occasions where I would talk to my mother on the phone and say, “Oh, I have a class of 30 people to train today,” or “I’m going to speak at our National Sales Meeting and I have 100 people to present to.” One day she stopped me and said, “Oh my gosh, Karen, how do you do that? You’re SO shy!”

It stopped me in my tracks and it was an “Aha!” moment for me. That moment was a real marker for me in my career because I had almost forgotten that I used to be shy and to look back and go, “How did I get here?!” was amazing.

I realized, and told my mom, that when you love what you do, and you’re passionate about it, you gain confidence. I mean, I went from being incredibly timid to public speaking and presenting for a living!

I believe this all happened because Ultradent recognizes passion in people and fosters growth in those areas. That’s what I love the most about Ultradent. The only reason I’m in the position I am today as the director of U.S. sales is because Ultradent identified and recognized the passion I had for our products at the beginning, and helped me cultivate it and build on it by making me a trainer, which helped develop my skills further to help me become what I am today. I thank God for that and that I’m part of a company that does that for and with their people.

While the traditional view of leadership revolves around authority, responsibility, or title, author Dave Weber, shatters these notions with groundbreaking insights that reflect a new reality.

A leader is anyone who has influence. Take a look at any group of kindergartners on the playground. Not one of those little stinkers has a title, but there is definitely someone in charge, influencing what’s going on. While most people traditionally look to the top of an organization or department for leadership (in theory, that is!), the highest performing groups in companies, schools, clubs, or sports teams have members who demonstrate leadership at every level. These “leaders without the title” have latched on to the profound reality that because they have influence, THEY LEAD.

Discover Weber’s 12 X’s for today’s leader and learn simple strategies that can make a positive difference in every area of your life.

Her presentations include revealing research, eye-opening case studies and, of course, stories attendees will remember and retell long after the event ends. Audiences leave inspired and motivated to apply Kindra’s actionable content.

Kindra lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, young son and daughter. When she is not traveling around the world speaking, Kindra can usually be found at spin class or at home with the family. And while she’ll never win a bake sale—she’s a welcomed guest-reader in her kids’ kindergarten and preschool classes.

Connect with Dental Innovations

Our Story
Dental Innovation was founded on providing next-generation video text technology to bridge the treatment recommendation knowledge gap between dentists and their patients. This technology was initially developed and implemented in Fortune 100 companies and our desire is to leverage it for smaller, niche markets – dental being the first.

Our Approach
Along with the technology, we brought together practicing dentists to choose initial platform content as well as providing editorial feedback on all originally produced content video.

Our Production
From idea to execution to delivery, our team spent months ensuring the videos we created would be helpful to dentists and impactful for their patients. Here are some behind the scenes photos of the process.
